"
Special Instructor Development Class"

The purpose of this course is to further develop the instructor skills of the ICI certified instructor and to bring them to the Level Three certification requirements of the POST Instructor Development Institute (IDI). This special course is designed to"
1) fill the gap between what ICI certified instructors have already done
2) to complete those additional requirements needed to become Level Three certified.

To satisfy all of the IDI Level Three requirements graduates of this course will still have to attend the 16-hour Leadership, Mentoring and Coaching Course.

This specially-designed course will include material being presented at Level Two that was not a part of the ICII Course (instructional technology, additional learning theory, presentation techniques, etc.). This is a very unique opportunity available to ICII graduates only and will be offered on a limited basis only. This is the second offering; it is highly unlikely it will be offered again.

A personal laptop computer and the ability to access email while in travel is an expectation. The classroom will have wireless connectivity and many of the activities require the use of a computer. If you only have agency email and cannot access it while in travel status establishing an email account prior to attendance with one of the free services (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) will be expected. When you register ensure the SDRTC has your personal email address. Registering using the email address of the Training Manager or Coordinator will not allow us to contact you as required prior to the course beginning. There are administrative tasks that are required and direct email contact is mandatory. Please kindly respect this request.

You will be doing work to enhance your present ICI module of instruction. Please bring any related course material (course goal, lesson plans, handouts, etc). to this course with you to assist you in this portion of the course.

The course is designed for active, hands-on participation by the students. Course work will include research, active training, group activities and practice applying facilitation skills.
