POST Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault for
First Responders on Tribal Lands
 

This one-day (8-hour) course is designed for First Responders who handle calls on Indian Land, focusing on the investigation of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault calls on Indian Land.  Of key importance is a background of PL 280 and how it impacts investigations.  The dynamics of history and culture that are unique to the American Indian are discussed with the role they may play in an investigation. 

The course is taught using scenario based DVDs, and the staff includes instructors with backgrounds in law enforcement, prosecution, victimology, and American Indian culture.
