Burglary, Theft and Receiving Stolen Property Investigations

This course is designed to provide both novice and experienced detectives with the knowledge and personal skills necessary to conduct successful burglary, theft and RSP investigations. Detectives new to their assignment will learn specific investigative techniques, problem-solving skills, and case management skills; experienced detectives will update their skills and learn the latest techniques to improve clearance and issurance rates.

The 32-hour course is one of the Foundation Specialty courses of POST's Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigations (ICI)

Investigative techniques; Resident burglary, cargo theft, safe burglary, cell phone fraud, metal theft, organized theft gangs, pawn shop stings
The crime triangle
Crime pattern analysis
Care and custody of property
