CA POST CERTIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING
Management Course

This management course is the new revised, updated version which resulted from a collaborative effort between POST, the four presenters of the course throughout the state, and committees of law enforcement managers. The expanded 104-hour course reflects new subject matter, and a course design based on adult learning.

The course presents new managers with the information and skills they need to develop to succeed as a middle-manager. The promotion to Lieutenant dramatically changes a person’s view of their department, and their level of responsibility and accountability. Through this course, the student will explore these changes in relationships, perspective, and the new skills demanded of them.

Who Should Attend: Police Lieutenants and above; Sergeants on Lieutenant promotion lists are also welcome.


Note:  POST does not accept students into the Management Course who are employed by a government agency that does not have a law enforcement function, such as public defenders office, public works department, human resources department, etc.  This course is specifically designed for law enforcement personnel at the management level.  Any questions or need for clarification should be addressed with the POST Program Manager – Senior Consultant Gary Sorg – (916) 227-2822.  For Sheriff's Department Lieutenant or Sergeant you must designate your title as Lieutenant - Deputy Sheriff or Lieutenant -Correctional Officer when registering for this course.
