DEALING WITH ANGRY AND HOSTILE PEOPLE

Hostility in the workplace has become an increasing problem for both employees and supervisors. Employees have long had to deal with hostility from customers but the level, frequency and severity seems to be on the rise. Now, more and more managers and employees are experiencing an increasing hostility within the organization — among each other.

This workshop is designed to provide an overview of new and innovative ways to understand and deal with hostility and anger. Information, old and new, is presented, the dynamics of hostility ared reviewed, and techniques are practiced. The workshop provides participants with practical and job specific ways to deal with hostile and violent situations.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
  • The dynamics of anger
  • Four triggers of anger
  • Ways to recognize a person who is mentally disturbed and
    intervene
  • Techniques that can be used in hostile or angry situations
