STRESS MANAGEMENT
1/2 DAY WORKSHOP

Stress is a constant reality of our lives, both at work and at home. Not all stress is negative. Stress in moderation is a healthy and energizing force in most people. It can motivate us and bring out our hidden creativity and strength. Stress can also be a killer! Individuals in high stress situations who are unaware of the effects of stress on the body and mind have a significantly higher chance of poor performance, poor judgement, ineffective supervision, burn-out and disease.

This workshop is designed to help participants become aware of the effects of stress, the symptoms of stress and a survey of some stress management techniques to be used to effectively deal with stress. Emphasis will be on techniques to be used in the situation as the stress is happening rather than techniques to be used long after one has encountered the stress situation.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
  • The effects of stress upon the mind and body
  • The symptoms of stess in yourself and others
  • An overview of a variety of effective stress management techniques
  • Training in specific methods to be used immediately in stressful situations
