PUBLIC AGENCY COURSE
LABOR RELATIONS
for SUPERVISORS

Half-day workshop!

In today’s workplace, managers, supervisors and employees must deal with increasing levels of complexity, decreased revenues, rapid advances in technology, intense competition and increased expectations of stakeholders, and the public. Organizations are flatter and so there are more working managers with less time to manage. Furthermore, managers must rely on their direct reports to act with greater autonomy. Add a litigious environment and successful coaching for employee performance
becomes a significant challenge.

Participants in this highly participative program will learn the mindset for creating a high performance environment and coaching skills along the continuum of developing readiness for promotion, overall competence in a current position and discipline. This course is designed for new leaders and managers wanting to develop basic skills, and experienced leaders and managers wanting to add coaching to the repertoire of skills.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
  • Meyers-Milias Brown Act
  • Public Employment Relations Board
  • Public Employment Relations Board
