PUBLIC AGENCY COURSE
EFFECTIVE PRESENTATIONS

A carefully prepared presentation delivered with confidence and ease can convey a great deal of information and, at the same time, increase audience receptivity. This one-day workshop will provide participants with guidelines for making effective presentations.

Participants will have several structured speaking opportunities followed by professional feedback focusing on both vocal and physical behaviors while speaking. Video taping will be used to provide additional feedback.
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
  • Persuasive speech format to effectively eliminate the need for speech writing and memorization
  • How to develop techniques for fielding difficult questions
  • Way to deliver a group presentation in a highly dynamic and persuasive manner
  • How to control nervousness
  • Techniques for controlling the group at all times during the presentation
  • Class size is limited to 18 students
