PUBLIC AGENCY COURSE
GRAMMATICAL CONCEPTS–  ADVANCED

This class goes far beyond the Basic Grammar Review class. Participants will learn how to spot errors that many editors don’t even recognize as being errors. The instructor will give special attention to dealing with the many changes that have occurred in the application of English grammar. Even the “office grammarian” will be stimulated and challenged by this course.

For those who put the finishing touches on written communication, this class is a must. This is not a remedial class!

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
  • Identiftying and correcting dangling participles and other misplaced modifiers
  • Correcting common errors in syntax
  • Understanding when to use "that" or "which" in modifying clauses



  • Choosing between "due to" and "because;" "like" and "as;" "affect" and "effect"
